The Shame Of Susan G. Komen. Way To Encourage Cancer…

So I’m reading the news today and seeing this story about how the Susan G. Koman organization is pulling all its grants that it provides to Planned Parenthood for breast cancer screenings. The reason given is that Planned Parenthood is under congressional investigation for its practices concerning federal funding and abortions that it provides. I just wanted to write a quick piece and tell my few readers why this sickens me. I am not a fan of abortion, nor do I think federal money should be used for such a procedure, but now, because of the constant government interference into what is, whether you like it or not, a personal choice, women in our society who need breast cancer screenings to protect their health are going to be the losers in an argument that has nothing to do with breast cancer.

I am not saying anything about abortion here because that is an entirely different issue. If the Komen foundation cares about the well-being of women, why would they pull funding from something that is helping women in society? Planned Parenthood is not being investigated for misusing breast cancer funds, so why couldn’t Komen continue to contribute to just that area while congress and Planned Parenthood figure out the issues in other aspects of their operation? To me, once again, we are seeing individuals being harmed because of government interference. For the record, this is not me supporting abortion, it is me supporting logic. If you are against abortion, fine but why penalize people using a service for cancer detection and drag them into an argument that has nothing to do with cancer? It is just the typical, cross government interference that we see every day. If one aspect of the country or the government doesn’t like something, then drag down a bunch of innocent people who have nothing to do with it so they are forced to support your side or pay a penalty. Personally, I think the Komen foundation, a foundation that’s message is “the battle against breast cancer”, should be fucking ashamed of themselves for allowing partisan and unrelated government bullshit to allow them to become distracted from the cause they are attempting to champion. Abortion is a choice.Breast cancer is not and, in my opinion, they are actually supporting the pro-cancer side of this argument by allowing women who need help ensuring they do not fall victim to the very cause this foundation is founded on to go without screenings they need because of an entirely different issue.
